❗❗ Transfering funds to Polygon/Matic network

Deposit DAI/USDC/USDT from Binance smart chain to Matic using cross-chain bridge on xpollinate.io

xpollinate.io currently supporting xDai chain, Polygon (matic), and Binance smart chain. Xpollinate enables you to swap the DAI, USDC, and USDT tokens between xDai, Polygon, and BSC as of writing. The service is currently in beta so you should still be careful when using it.

Go to xpollinate.io and connect your MetaMask wallet. Next you will have a form in the middle of the webapp where you can select networks and what token you want to transfer. The view should look something like this:

In the example transfering DAI from BSC to Polygon/Matic

Press the button “SWAP”

You will now be requested in your MetaMask wallet app to sign some message. Sign it and you will get to the next step that looks like the image below:

Here you fill in how much of your chosen token you want to transfer to the other chain. When you are satisfied click the "Swap" button. Now you will have a view that looks something like this:

The transferring step took about 20 seconds. As soon as it is done you had the tokens on Polygon. The last view that you get (if successful) looks like the one below:

After the transaction you can check your wallet on the Polygon network by going to wallet.matic.network

In the example we transferred 10 Dai from BSC and received 10 Dai on Polygon

If you have sufficient balance of DAI/USDT/USDC on Binance Smart Chain or xDAI chain, then you should be able to deposit. It is recommended to follow these guides to understand more on deposits:

Deposit ETH/DAI/USDC from Ethereum to Matic using the PoS bridge on wallet.matic.network

If you are wondering about which wallet you should use, you should consider downloading a MetaMask extension. MetaMask is the free and secure browser extension that allows users to interact with the ethereum blockchain. You can download and configure MetaMask from metamask.io if you are a new user. Now you can transfer sufficient balance of ETH or DAI to your brand new MetaMask.

Good!!! Now go back and read "Adding MATIC network on MetaMask". Come ooon! It will take no more than 30 seconds to read it.

You are now able to deposit MATIC tokens from the Ethereum mainnet to the Matic mainnet. 🙂 You can also transfer MATIC tokens to different wallet addresses on the Matic mainnet. You need to have MATIC tokens and ETH on the Ethereum mainnet. Without these your transactions will fail.

Any address on Ethereum is compatible with the Matic mainnet.

You can log in to wallet.matic.network using the brand new MetaMask. You have sufficient balance of ETH or DAI at Ethereum mainnet and will transfer them in to Matic's network. If you deposit ETH, you will recieve WETH on the Matic chain. It's call pos-WETH on the Maitc chain and it has the contract address - 0x7ceB23fD6bC0adD59E62ac25578270cFf1b9f619. Similarly for pos-DAI, the contract address is 0x8f3Cf7ad23Cd3CaDbD9735AFf958023239c6A063

Wallet dashboard

Clicking on "Move funds to Matic Mainnet" button besides the token you want to deposit, will take you to the following page.

Deposit ETH Deposit DAI

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU USE THE PoS BRIDGE WHEN YOU DEPOSIT ETH/DAI

Its very important to follow this because matic.opensea.io only supports the pos version of DAI/ETH. Depositing ETH/DAI using the Plasma bridge will result in plasma-WETH and plasma-DAI getting deposited in to your account and you will not be able to use it for trading on matic.opnsea.io. Once you complete the deposit process, it will take about 7-8 minutes for your deposit to get completed. Once the deposit is completed, you can see the updated balance of MetaMask wallet on Matic network.

If you have sufficient balance of ETH/DAI on Ethereum, then you should be able to deposit. It is recommended to follow these guides to understand more on deposits
